story Comprehension
Story comprehension, also known as post-story comprehension, is the third step in the literacy-based therapy framework.
​
During this phase the clinician asks questions about the text. You are not testing students or looking for a certain number of correct answers. The goal is to help students understand the story and concepts presented in it.
​
Once we know students comprehend the story, we can move forward with semantic, syntactic, and narrative tasks (step 4).
